If you want to know what it’s like to run a full marathon on ice, at 20 below zero, in Siberia, across the deepest lake in the world – then you can “run” with Chris Heaton! He’ll be attempting to do just that on Saturday 3rd March – it’s the Lake Baikal ice marathon situated about 200 miles north of the Mongolian border. Chris will be videoing it and commenting on how he feels and how things are going as he does it. He will then post edited highlights on his blog as soon as he can – although it may have to wait until he gets back. Here is the link to the blog – it already has posts on his training, kit choices, photographs, and test video footage from the ChrisHeatonRuns YouTube channel! www.chrisheaton.blogspot.com Chris is attempting this run to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer – the charity was set up by a friend of his who lost her mother and sister to the disease within months of each other. He promised he would do something for her – and this is it. |

Thanks to David’s fundraising efforts the OSL Group of companies raised over £6,000 for Help for Heroes. See http://www.justgiving.com/david-grey-mbe for more photos and the full story! | |

As part of this year’s Master Cutler Challenge, I have decided to lob myself out of an aircraft at 12,000 feet. Although I do love anything to do with speed, heading towards the ground at terminal velocity was never on the list. The truth is that although I’m fine in an aircraft, I hate heights. The idea of mountain climbing or even peering over a tall building fills me with dread, that being the case, in a moment of madness I committed myself to it. If you can see your way to supporting me with a couple of quid which will end up with “Help the Heroes” I would be really grateful. I’ve set up a justgiving site at www.justgiving.com/david-grey-mbe for anyone who likes to do this sort of thing online. Otherwise cheques, promissory notes or white five pound notes to the address below or when you see me. I have also decided to offer a case of wine to the person who best guesses the time from me exiting the aircraft to gratefully hugging the ground. So even if it is for £1 or more I’m grateful of your support. David Grey MBE Group Managing Director OSL Group Holdings Ltd Imperial Works Sheffield Road Sheffield S9 2YL |
